[Petwksp] GSA Houston: workshop and session on teaching structural geology and petrology

Hi folks

First, the structure/petrology topical sessions for the March 
Cordilleran/Rocky Mountain sections meeting have been scrubbed. As a 
result of some communication issues between the section meeting chair 
and the technical program chair, GSA never included the sessions on the 
list of topicals for the March meeting. So, we're doing the sensible 
thing and abandoning the idea.

Second, I'm looking for a few people who are interested in helping 
organize/convene an oral and poster session on teaching structural 
geology and petrology for the fall 2008 GSA national meeting in Houston. 
I'm also seeking ideas and possible conveners for a pre-meeting workshop.

The GSA proposal deadline is Dec. 4. I know that it's a busy time of the 
semester, but I hope that a few of you will volunteer!!
