Hi Workshoppers,

We're looking forward to seeing you in just a few weeks at the Teaching
Oceanography workshop. Here are a few last minute updates:

1. Please confirm your travel itineraries by sending details to Jen
Millner, jmillner at montana.edu by next Wednesday, June 29. We will
prepare a travel list so you can coordinate surface transport to the
hotel with others arriving at the same time. Please let us know if you
will be driving or flying to Seattle, and if flying, provide your
airline, flight number, and times of arrival and departure. Once
everyone has confirmed their travel plans, we'll organize groups to
travel together to the hotel:

If you are driving, directions to the hotel can be found on the
logistics page:
http://serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/ocean05/logistics.html

If you are flying, there are two suggested ways to get to the hotel: 1)
Seattle SA Town Car Service; we can "pool" rides for folks arriving at
about the same time. Leah at the Watertown Hotel will make
reservations-we'll send her the list of travel schedules. Or, if you're
on your own due to delays or unusual arrival times, 2) Shuttle Express
is a little less expensive (~$17 one way), will deliver to the Watertown
Hotel, but takes a little longer because it makes stops at other hotels
along the way. Shuttle Express can be reached at 1-800-487-7433 or
www.shuttleexpress.com <http://www.shuttleexpress.com/> .

2. Please take a look at the Workshop Program:
http://serc.carleton.edu/dev/NAGTWorkshops/ocean05/program.html Let me
know if I've overlooked anyone who has material to demonstrate at the
"Share Fair". And we have plenty of more space for posters (32x40
inches) if you become inspired. Just let me know.

3. We're very fortunate to have Pat Pringle and Kathy Troost, USGS,
leading our field trip on Catastrophic Volcanic Debris Flows and
Submerged Forests Related to Cascadia Seismic Events-this should be a
very interesting and timely field trip around the Puget Sound area.
Please confirm with Jen Millner that you will be attending the field
trip so that we can make final arrangements for vehicles and lunches.

I hope you'll all have safe (and uneventful) travels to the workshop.

Best to all,

Dave Mogk
