[Oceanwksp] Help with Deaprtment Reviews

Hi All

Bowdoin's Geology Dept. has just finished a retreat and we are preparing 
for a departmental review we hope will occur this fall or early winter.  
I am writing the listserv to ask your help in identifying people we 
might suggest to our administration for inclusion in the outside review 
team.

Specifically, we are looking for one person with obvious 
national/international reputation who will effectively make a very 
convincing case to our dean and president about the importance of  
geoscience in an undergraduate education and the value of the science 
itself to the planet.   We are also looking for names of people who have 
done reviews of departments in liberal arts colleges such as ours.  In 
both cases the potential reviews can be rock or water types.

So, please send names directly to me and thanks in advance for any help 
you can give us in this regard.  Enjoy August as it rushes by.
