Geoscience departments now offer a variety of BA and BS programs meeting a diversity of goals. This session will showcase the variety of curriculum models that have been developed and the assessments that are being used to measure their success. Presentations might include one or more of the following: - a description of your departments undergraduate curriculum with a rationale for the choices you have made and the results to date - strategies for curricular and program assessment - curricular options for general education/entry-level courses and some analysis as to how they are meeting the needs of the students - the goals and expected student outcomes for undergraduate geoscience (geology, meteorology, marine science, earth science) majors - the range of curricular options for your students (e.g., tracks for earth science teachers, pre-engineering, etc) and measures of success - other aspects of undergraduate geoscience programs: defining and assessing the curriculum NOTE: You can be a first author on an abstract submitted to a science session as well as one submitted to an education session! The deadline for submissions is Sept 10.
