Please take note of the following Special Session at the 2006 Fall AGU 
Meeting:

Session ED10: Facilitating Undergraduate Research in the Geosciences: 
Classroom Innovations That Encourage and Support Student Investigations

Conveners:  Jeff Ryan and Lydia Fox

Description: A wide range of projects supported by the National Science 
Foundation's Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI), 
Geoscience Education, and COSEE programs, NASA programs, and other 
funding sources have sought to bring the tools and methods of geosicence 
research into undergraduate classrooms. This session seeks to highlight 
those classroom approaches that have been effective in aiding 
undergraduate students in the transition from learner to investigator.

We are interested in presentations highlighting all efforts to bring 
research into geoscience classrooms, as well as efforts to assess the 
educational impacts of such activities and of undergraduate research 
efforts.

Please note that AGU permits the submission one additional 
first-authored abstract to an Education and Human Resources session.
