[Geochemwksp] Geochemistry textbooks?

Geochemists,
I am in the midst of preparing to teach a junior/senior undergrad-
and masters-level geochemistry course. I was unable to attend the
Cutting Edge "Teaching Geochemistry" workshop that was held last spring
prior to the Goldschmidt Conference, but I have been doing my best to
plumb the resources on the NAGT/SERC Teaching Geochemistry website
(http://serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/geochemistry/). What I haven't
found yet is a discussion of what textbooks/journal articles/other
references folks are using to teach geochemistry. For that matter,
there aren't many geochemistry class syllabi on the site either. My
inclination it to teach a class with an emphasis on high temperature
geochemistry, as this is what I most enjoy, but I would be happy to
compile a list of responses from any facet of geochemistry.
So my questions to you are:
1) What textbooks, journal articles, and/or other references do you use
in teaching geochemistry? (Feel free to expand on the virtues and/or
drawbacks of each.)
2) What topics do you feel it is most important that students learn in a
geochemistry class at this level (undergrad/masters) and how do you
perfer to organize these topics?
3) Any other feedback you have about the general subject of teaching
geochemistry or insights you gained from attending the workshop would be
welcome, as well.
I will gladly pass on any relevant feedback to those maintaining the
Teaching Geochemistry website so that it continues to grow as a
"powerful tool" for geochemists and educators.
Thanks for your anticipated feedback!
Ron
