[Climchangewksp] logistical notes for climate workshop

Greetings Climate Change Workshoppers!

 

Our workshop is only one week away – how did that happen?!

Here are a few logistical notes for everyone.

1. Please check the participant list http://serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/climatechange06/participants.html

to make sure you’re accounted for if you plan on attending. The list was just updated and includes everyone who has registered for the workshop. If you are planning on coming and your name is not on the list, please let me know ASAP so I can add you. Similarly, if you are on the list and you won’t be attending, please let us know.

 

2. If you are flying to Bozeman, there are free airport shuttles to many of the major hotels. You'll find courtesy telephones in the baggage claim area. There will not be shuttles or transportation to/from campus, but feel free to use this listserv (climchangewksp at serc.carleton.edu) to connect with others and share rides or rental cars. 

 

3. Check the workshop program for the times and locations of all our activities, at http://serc.carleton.edu/NAGTWorkshops/climatechange06/program.html Directions to campus and parking instructions are posted there. We’ll be kicking off with a reception starting at 5:00 PM on Monday August 14, with dinner at 6:00 and our introductory speaker at 7:00 PM. 

 

4. A major outcome of the workshop is the development of an on-line collection of teaching materials that faculty can share. We encourage each of you to contribute your favorite classroom exercise, lab activity, computer activity, problem set or project to this collection. We’d love to see 20 activities in the collection by the time the workshop rolls around. Submitting a teaching exercise will take you about 30 minutes to enter information about how you teach the activity and to upload your files. After that you can sit back and bask in the fame and glory you will get for being part of our teaching collection!
