Cutting Edge" will offer a 2-day workshop <B

Sciences."</B> The workshop will be held April 20 - 23, 2006 at the American
Geophysical Union in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns =

w:st="on">Washington</st1:City>, <st1:State

Earth sciences with sound decision-making in public policy as it relates to
important issues such as climate change, hazards, resource development and many
more. These issues may be addressed on the international, national, and local
levels. Public policy topics are a great way to demonstrate the importance and
relevance of the Earth Sciences in our personal and societal lives.

many ways in which public policy issues can be integrated with the Earth
Sciences across the geoscience curriculum in introductory courses, courses for
majors, in courses in related disciplines, and for the general public.
