This course examines the experience of work from a life course perspective. This sociological approach encourages people to think about how society leaves its imprint on every stage of our individual lives. We incorporate this perspective by studying the meaning, experiences, and challenges of work at distinct stages in the life course.
Girls Gone Bad: Women, Crime, and Criminal Justice part of QuIRK:Courses
Recent media accounts suggest that female involvement in crime is increasing dramatically but what do the data show? Girls Gone Bad investigates this question in addition to other specific topics involving female criminality. In the process, students will acquire a broad set of quantitative reasoning skills that will equip them to question taken-for-granted assumptions about crime and criminality.
