This is a weekly short writing assignment that forces students to summarize materials presented in class, to reflect on their own performance and understanding of the material, and to relate it to their individual lives.
Stream Table Lab part of Cutting Edge:Introductory Courses:Activities
This is a lab activity in which students play with a stream table to learn about stream processes, how water and sediment interact, and to learn about basic stream-related calculations.
Physical Geology part of Cutting Edge:Introductory Courses:Courses
This course provides a study of the structure and composition of the earth's crust. Emphasis is placed on processes that affect the crust including plate tectonics, weathering, deposition, volcanism, mountain building forces, rocks and minerals, and structural changes. Upon completion, students should be able to explain the structure, composition, and formation of the earth's crust.
