Combustion/Pollution part of MnSTEP Teaching Activity Collection:MnSTEP Activity Mini-collection
Through observation students will come to a better understanding of what is required for combustion to occur, and the byproducts that are created by burning various fuels. I was introduced to this activity during a presentation of "Project Green Fleet", a series of activities that emphasize the effects of pollution on our environment, and ways to reduce this pollution.

Watersheds Urban and Rural part of MnSTEP Teaching Activity Collection:MnSTEP Activity Mini-collection
Students will build models representing rural and urban watersheds. Through the observation of these models, they will understand how the structures that make up a watershed determine the distribution of water and other elements contained in the watershed.

Exploring Newton's Second Law part of MnSTEP Teaching Activity Collection:MnSTEP Activity Mini-collection
Students will conduct an experiment that will reinforce their understanding of Newton's Second Law. Using simple objects, students will be able to control force, mass, and acceleration, and how each is related to each other.

Tracking and predicting the weather part of MnSTEP Teaching Activity Collection:MnSTEP Activity Mini-collection
Students will track barometric pressure, wind direction, temperature, and clouds. The class will record daily readings in these for areas and attempt to formulate patterns to use in forecasting the weather based on these elements.
