Description

Wellesley College is starting a Quantitative Analysis Institute (QAI) and is searching for a founding director of the Institute. The Institute will support quantitative research and instruction across the College. Activities of the Institute will include a summer training program for research and teaching assistants to ensure they have a good understanding of data management and are adept at the tools used in data analysis. The QAI will also support faculty research by training research assistants, providing direct consultation and consultation referrals, and overseeing research workshops.

The Quantitative Analysis Institute Director will lead the QAI programming and provide support for data-driven research and instruction through classroom instruction and support for statistical software/technologies.

The ideal candidate will be a PhD in a quantitative field with demonstrated experience in classroom instruction and quantitative research and experience working with one or more statistical packages (STATA, SAS, Matlab, SPSS or similar).

This position reports to the Research and Instructional Support team in Library and Technology Services and receives direction from the QAI oversight board (faculty and staff).

This is a 2 year position, with the possibility of continuing dependent on funding.

Desired start date: February 2013 (start date negotiable).
