Caren Diefenderfer, Hollins University
Caren Diefenderfer, Professor of Mathematics at Hollins University, has been a workshop leader, invited speaker, and outside evaluator for Quantitative Reasoning programs at numerous institutions and national meetings. She helped to establish two (q and Q) general education quantitative reasoning requirements at Hollins. The Hollins program is best known for offering Q-courses in the humanities, the social sciences, and the fine arts, in addition to the Q-courses in the physical, natural and mathematical sciences. She served as Chair and Past Chair of SIGMAA QL (the Special Interest Group of the Mathematical Association of America on Quantitative Literacy) and is currently an NNN board member. She, Stuart Boersma, Shannon Dingman and Bernie Madison have authored "Case Studies for Quantitative Reasoning: A Casebook of Media Articles."
