Workshop Overview

Goals

  1. To generate seed ideas for ways in which the STEM professional societies and educational associations can collaborate in efforts to effect substantial change and improvement in undergraduate STEM education, and
  2. To develop a plan for integrating the efforts of the STEM disciplinary societies around new faculty workshops, by creating mechanisms that foster communication and support among faculty who have attended professional development workshops.

Dates

The workshop was held over two days, from January 30-31, 2014. The workshop began at 9:00 on Thursday morning and ended at lunchtime on January 31st.

Facilities

The workshop took place at the Mathematical Association of America Carriage House at their headquarters in Washington, DC.

Directions

The headquarters of the Mathematical Association of America is at 1529 18th St. NW, about 2 blocks from the north entrance of the Dupont Circle Metro Station. The Carriage House meeting facility is behind the offices. Go about 20 yards east of 18th Street on Church Street. The Carriage House will be on your left. Those coming from out of town will be staying at the Carlyle Suites, 1731 New Hampshire Ave. NW (upper right corner of map).
