Installing dish for USGS seismic network
This photo shows the construction of a test VSAT dish at the USGS Albuquerque Seismological Laboratory. This earthstation is used to test telemetry systems prior to deployments worldwide. Real-time seismic data is transmitted via networks like these, allowing ready access to data from around the world. Image courtesy of the USGS Albuquerque Seismological Laboratory.

Professional development and dissemination

The InTeGrate professional development program will engage a broad community of geoscientists, environmental scientists, social scientists and others in:

1) Improving the effectiveness of faculty in teaching courses connecting geoscience to environmental and resource challenges

2) Supporting the development of programs that increase the number of students developing geoscience literacy and the ability to address the grand challenges.

Initially, the professional development program will explore current practices and their strengths and weaknesses. In later years, professional development will move towards disseminating materials, models and lessons learned throughout the InTeGrate project.

General Workshop Schedule

The program will include face-to-face workshops accommodating 520 participants, a series of virtual events, and a traveling workshop program.
