What does your map show? Please briefly describe it.
--My map shows all the earthquakes within 200 miles of convergent fault lines (bold yellow lines).
What GIS data are you interested in having your students investigate?
--As of this week, it seems very important to have my kids look at the China earthquake, the Japan earthquake and the Chilean volcano. However, for next year I'd like to incorporate vernal pool analysis using ImageJ with GIS data for all the pools (certified and unvertified) in Lexington where we are located.
What GIS analysis techniques are you considering using with students?
--I really like the buffer/query techniques, as well as the hot link. They love taking photos, so to be able to use pictures they've taken with GIS would probably be a big hit with them.
What lingering questions (if any) do you have from today's workshop?
--I just want to figure out how to make a simple Excel spreadsheet into a workable Event Theme on my computer!
