Chris' session 4

What does your map show? Please briefly describe it.
My map shows quite a bit...the buffering data shows that approx. 70% of significant big earthquakes occur within 200 miles of convergent boundaries. It shows the significant big earthquakes and their years in blue. It shows the recent Chengdu earthquake in red and the aftershocks in pink, along with their magnitude. Also, shown are the fault lines.

What GIS data are you interested in having your students investigate?
I can see using GIS data for studying topographical maps and elevation studies. It was also be good for comparing and contrasting converent and divergent boundaries.

What GIS analysis techniques are you considering using with students? I really like the information tool. It would be great for any research activities. Of course the kids would like linking pictures.

What lingering questions (if any) do you have from today's workshop? None at the moment. I need to do some playing around with it.
