Here is the Excel worksheet I'd use with the lesson. Currently studying South Asia right now, so lesson will be implimentated right after vacation

This looks like an activity I could use with the 6th grade classes I have. I will check with the SS teachers to see when they are studying India and China and propose this activity with their classes. Thanks for the information!

This is a great activity to use with a social studies class. I am thinking of using something like this with mine, to compare population growth of America in the 1800's with questions about the why's?

I like this lesson. In my class, we study exponential functions and the kids analyze the increase in populations to project future numbers. I could use parts of your lesson as an introduction. Thanks!
