This is a great way for students to think about heat and its relationship to the weather. I have to cover heat this year and I think I may adapt this lesson into my plans. I wonder if you have them think about the two different summers and explain why they think or do not think the temperature is different. Thanks!

Ann, this is a terrific lesson and could possibly be adapted for 8th grade relating to heat transfer.
