This lesson is to lay the ground work in grades 5, 6, 7, & 8 in the introduction to spreadsheets and the making of charts and graphs from raw data. This will allow the students to become familiar with the terminology associated with spreadsheets, the toolbars, and palettes, x & y axis of charts and graphs, titles, & simple formulas and how to build a spreadsheet from scratch using the computer as a tool in their educational process.

I forgot to add I use a projector on a student computer to project to the wall each step in the process of developing and using a spreadsheet. So students can see a demonstration of what to do, or is expected and then to do it for themselves.
