This sounds like a great way to have the students organize the data they collect.
Putting data into the computer makes it seem much more "sciency".
Will they share the information they collect with others in the class?

I like your idea of having kids collect data and keep track of it of it in Excel. You can even have the kids do some sorting and graphing. I am also impressed with the set up of your spreadsheet - how did you get the column headings to be vertical? Very cool.

I'm so glad you are enjoying teaching science. The kids are lucky to have you!
