Background Information

Brian Peterson is an Associate Professor of Economics at Central College in Pella, Iowa. He received his Ph.D. in economics from Indiana University in 2000. He previously taught at Manchester College in Indiana before coming to Central in 2004.

Brian has published work in teaching pedagogy with the The Economics Centre of the Learning and Teaching Support Network at the University of Bristol, and has presented pedagogical work at the Midwest Economics Association and American Economics Association annual meetings. He also previously received a grant from the Iowa College Foundation to support work in digitizing economics applications in television and film.

At Central, Brian teaches courses in microeconomics, public finance, environmental economics, and economic history.
