Oblique View Up the Head of Monterey Canyon

Figure 3: Oblique digital view shows giant sand waves covering the floor of the canyon, landslide scars, and a 25 m tall fill terrace that indicating that the canyon is in an erosional phase. The down-canyon end of the terrace is at a depth of approximately 130 m, the 18,000 year shoreline. The warmer colors are shallow and the cool colors are deeper. The shallowest depth in the image is approximately 10 m, and the deepest point in this image is 160 m below sea level.
