Fig. 3: Results of ERT. Note the increase in resistivity ranging from an inactive lobe (Balcon 1) to an active one (Balcon 2) until the zone of thermokarst with massive ground ice (debris covered glacier ice). Resistivity values of < 30 K&#61527;m at Balcon 1 indicate just isolated permafrost lenses. In contrast almost 1 M&#61527;m at Balcon 2 clearly represents permafrost (blue color). The zone of thermokarst reaches values of almost up to 10 M&#61527;m standing for obvious debris covered glacier ice.
