Description: Site tells about the difference between climate and weather, but only has students collect weather data. Learning depends on questions asked during discussion at the end to bring up the climate differences. It would help to have more structure for the students to use to bring out the climate comparison to the weather measurements, and to have a chart attached ready to use for collecting the weather data. (ED)

Comments: Students use weather data and long-term climatological averages to learn the difference between weather and climate. Also contains useful background material. In the activity students measure all their own weather data, but this might not be an effective use of time. Instead, data can be downloaded elsewhere online.
