FOCUS part of Case Studies
FOCUS supports students through their entry into the study of science/math at Carleton and as they continue in the curriculum by creating a cohort which enrolls in classes together (in so far as this makes sense), meets regularly in a colloquium throughout the first year, and has an opportunity for work study in the sciences.

Peer Mentoring part of Case Studies
Peer mentoring is an academic support program that utilizes peer assisted study sessions. Mentor sessions are informal seminars in which students compare notes, discuss readings, develop organizational tools and predict test items. The mentor sessions are directed by students who have previously and successfully taken the course and then sit through the course again.
