Travel Information
Use this form to tell us how you will be arriving at the conference. The ACM will cover the travel expenses for two people per ACM school. (Exception: The ACM will cover the travel expenses for additional individuals from Minnesota ACM schools.) If funds allow, additional participants’ expenses may be covered. See below for a description of travel options. Please make your travel plans so that you can arrive at the Carleton campus by 1 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011 and can stay through Saturday, June 4 at 5 pm.
Flying
Northfield is located about 45 minutes south of MSP (Minneapolis-St. Paul) airport. We will attempt to arrange for group or public transportation from the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport to Northfield.
Only airline reservations made through Foremost Travel & Tours will be covered, unless prior arrangements have been made with the ACM office. This policy saves both money and time; Foremost Travel obtains low-cost fares and bills the ACM office directly. Travelers are still able to select a convenient schedule and receive frequent flyer mileage but do not have to worry about reimbursement and payment.
To make your flight arrangements, please contact Foremost Travel & Tours, toll-free at 1-800-225-7185 or via email at dan@foremosttravel.com, and speak or write to Dan Lindell. Dan notes that he is more accessible via e-mail, since he is often on the phone. Please identify yourself as a participant in the ACM-Internationalizing Undergraduate Psychology workshop; Dan will have a list of people who will be contacting him.
Dan will check your options and, after consulting you, confirm your reservations. Tickets will be delivered electronically within 24 hours of confirming your reservation. Please consult the ACM office for more specific information about policy guidelines, refunds, and unused tickets or lost tickets. Please Note: Airlines have tightened their policies regarding changes and unused tickets. In most cases, unused tickets have no value; keep this in mind as you make your reservation.
This project is sponsored by the ACM-FaCE Project and as good stewards of Mellon Foundation funds, we seek to allow as many participants to attend as the grant allows. In this light, please purchase your airline tickets in a timely manner. The project will reimburse you for economy class roundtrip travel that is purchased at least 14 days in advance. Tickets purchased within 14 days of the workshop will be reimbursed at the cost of the lowest-priced 14-day advance ticket.
Auto
If you will be driving more than 150 miles one way to the event, we require you to rent a car through your home institution. If you rent a car, ACM will reimburse your home institution, or you, for actual rental costs plus gasoline (with receipts) or for mileage, following the billing formula that is used by your institution. We do not, however, pay for fill-ups through the rental company since their filling fees are much higher.
If you choose to drive your own car, ACM will pay for mileage at a rate of $0.50/mile. However, if your travel is more than 300 miles roundtrip, ACM will only reimburse you for a maximum of 300 miles.
