Collaborating Partner Application

All ACM institutions are invited to participate in the "First-Year Learning Outcomes and Their Assessment" project. This project, spearheaded by Colorado College in collaboration with Lake Forest College, seeks to bring together ACM institutions interested in researching and fostering best pedagogical practices in the areas of defining learning outcomes for first-year student courses or programs and assessing courses or programs pursuing those goals.

Please provide the following information. Applications are due by 10 May 2010.

List the name and describe the character of the first-year program to be developed and assessed. If your institution does not have a formal first-year program, explain how participation in this project may help your institution.

Describe in a few sentences how far along your institution is in developing a mission statement, learning outcomes, and assessment plan for your first-year or related program. If your institution is in the process of developing these statements and plans, please describe your development plans.

Will your institution be in a position to conduct a pilot assessment of your first-year or similar program by the fall of 2010? If not, explain how participation as a Collaborating Partner may nevertheless be useful.

Will your institution be ready to make presentations at the November 2010 meeting of Collaborating Partners and the summer 2011 ACM-wide conference?
