I give the students analyses from work that I did with Chris Henry on the Bofecillos Mountains and the Solitario. (Tertiary Volcanism of the Bofecillos Mountains and Big Bend Ranch State Park, Texas: Revised Stratigraphy and 40Ar/39Ar Geochronology, by C. D. Henry, L. L. Davis, M. J. Kunk, and W. C. RI0253, .00) I then have them plot the data every which way but loose and see if they can pick out trends...if they do their reading they will know that the lavas/tuffs come from very different centers and that there are varying ages...
