Micro-imaging

Typical Use:

Analysis and imaging of extraterrestrial and terrestrial samples: Quantitative Spot analyis/Textural/Modal/zoning studies all possible using 4 WDS spectrometers (6 crystal choices) and integrated thin window EDS

Conditions for Use:

Submitted samples will be analyzed on a contract basis (i.e. lab personnel will do the work).
Visitors are invited to work in the lab to work with lab personnel.
Visitors are invited to work in the lab to design and do the work yourself.
Training Session (short course) is offered.

User Fees:

Charges are based hourly rates either with and without assistance.
Daily rates and longer rates are available for fully trained research personnel that provide flexibility in scheduling and usage.

5. Proof of concept experiments

Remote Use:

Yes but not implemented because of security issues.

Sample Preparation:

Users are responsible for sample preparation.
Details vary depending on application.
This should be discussed with lab personnel prior to scheduling time.

Software:

Constantly changing as needs evolve, contact lab personnel for more information.

Class demonstrations are available for undergraduates.
