Interest Survey: Teaching Paleontology in the 21st Century
Summer 2009
During summer 2009, On the Cutting Edge will offer a working on teaching paleontology at the undergraduate level. The workshop will be patterned after the very successful "Teaching X" workshops offered by On the Cutting Edge over the past 6 years (see, for example, Teaching Geophysics in the 21st Century)
We hope that you will take the time to fill out the following survey to help guide us in our planning. For further information, contact one of the conveners: Barbara Tewksbury (Hamilton College), Rowan Lockwood (College of William and Mary), or Margaret Yacobucci (Bowling Green State University)
We are considering two possible times and venues for the workshop.
- Option 1: The workshop would be held in conjunction with the North American Paleontology Convention in Cincinnati (which will be held June 21-26, 2009). Our workshop would take place for 5 days before the start of the NAPC (i.e., starting June 16 or 17).
- Option 2: The workshop would be hosted by the Paleontological Research Institute in Ithaca, NY and would take place over 5 days in late July or early August.
